with any questions that you may have about membership or how to join. Also, APG-FL meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to join us to get know us.
Networking opportunities: APG-FL meetings and events provide opportunities for establishing mutually beneficial relationships with fellow genealogists and potential clients.
Advertising: Your name and profile will appear on both the national APG's Directory and the APG-FL's Member Profiles page. Outside activities and any events (lectures & other speaking engagements, publications, etc.) can be reported in our newsletter. See our Member Profiles page to read about our members.
Educational opportunities: APG-FL holds four meetings each year and all meetings feature some educational topic on genealogy. Meetings are often held at local or regional records repositories, and staff guided tours of available assets are often provided. Our Meetings page has more information.
Lecture Opportunities: APG-FL members are encouraged to present their lectures to the members. This gives them a chance to polish their presentations and to let other professional genealogists see their work. This has led to opportunites for some of our members to lecture at local and statewide genealogy conferencs and seminars.
Business Contacts: APG-FL participates in the Florida State Genealogical Society's Annual Conference, both with our vendor's table, where our services are offered to attendees, and through the Genealogy Road Show where our members act as consultants to conference attendees and offer advice on solving genealogical problems. Our members also attend national conferences and participate in APG events, receiving exosure to a wider portion of the genealogical community.
All APG chapter members must also be members of the national Association of Professional Genealogists. If you are not yet a member of the APG, you can join or learn more about it here.
